15 Tips For Living Healthy On A Budget

As a primal health coach I often compare the modern world to that of our Paleolithic ancestors. When it comes to getting healthy most people think it’s expensive, however our ancestors didn’t use money. While they died of broken bones, injuries, and infection they weren’t plagued by the chronic diseases of the modern world.

Heck if you go back to 1900 you’ll see that heart disease was rare and so was cancer, allergies, autoimmunity, and the countless other issues modern humans have been dealt. I say dealt because when you get into the history of how we got here it’s difficult to see anything other than it was all done on purpose.

The good news is that getting healthy is actually quite simple. It’s easier than most people think. Clients I work with are often shocked that working with me doesn’t feel like a diet.

Here’s What You Don’t Need To Get Healthy:

  • expensive supplements

  • gym membership

  • medical procedures

  • a huge food budget

  • expensive equipment

What you do need is a willingness to learn and an ability to extend yourself the same grace and patience you give to others. It’s simply about doing the best that you can as often as you can. Besides, perfection is the thief of joy. If you go to a birthday party and you want cake, eat the cake.

If you have an interest in learning how to eat whole foods and you like to go for walks that’s really all you need to get started. Did you see the fitness pyramid I posted? It’s an approach to fitness similar to our Paleolithic ancestors lifestyle. They walked a lot, lifted heavy things once in awhile, and when the situation called for it they sprinted.

I know the world is currently on fire and everything is rapidly getting more expensive. Most people opt for cheaper food items trying to save money. While they are cheap on the shelf (thanks to the government), they erode your health, they don’t fill you up, there’s little nutrition, and you end up with medical bills that far exceed what you would have spent on better groceries.

I offer 5 pages of tips in the PDF download. One of which is gardening. In the northern hemisphere it’s the perfect time to start thinking about a plan. For my followers in the southern hemisphere, and those limited on space, you can grow herbs and greens indoors. Any plant that doesn’t bear fruit doesn’t need as much sunlight.

Botanical Interests sells non-gmo seeds and they also offer a Seed Starting Guide (affiliate). You can see a photo of my garden in this post. I apologize for the blur in the photo. My camera was a bit broken after dropping it on the pavement.

Sorry if that long list feels overwhelming. I simply want people searching for better health to have what they need. Health shouldn’t be a mystery or a secret. If you’re struggling it’s not your fault. Our nutrition guidelines don’t work for 60% of Americans…
